Guest posting is a popular means of producing relevant links to your site or your blog through links from other people’s blogs.

A business or individual will submit a post or an article to a blog to be posted and read by that blog’s users with two goals:

1. Supply relevant and useful material those readers will enjoy and who will than begin following your own blog, or who will visit your site.

2. It will create search engine “authority” on the subject covered, and an additional link which should help your own site or blog rank higher.

These benefits depend on a few factors. The site you are guest posting on needs to be a somewhat popular site with plenty of “natural” traffic – that is traffic based on real browsers looking for real information, and who stay on the pages long enough to read the content, and not bots produced to file through pages quickly to create false traffic.

That tactic no longer works with search engines (it never worked that well to start with).

Next, it must be relevant, not only your post, but your link. Search engines (and real human readers) won’t fall for a post on some unrelated topic, that than links somewhere that has little or nothing to do with either the blog where you posted or the post you submitted to the blog.

Here are the basic rules to follow while guest posting:

Make sure it is relevant as discussed.

Offer real information, not just a sales letter. Pretend you are the reader, what is something related to your topic that you would actually want to know or that you need to know?

Don’t copy content. The content has to be original or it will not be ranked, and search engine crawlers will find out if it is not original. Best case scenario, in a couple weeks once the crime’s been discovered your search ranking will take a hit, worse case your site or blog will be blacklisted altogether and no one will ever find it.

Pretty simple, but you’d be amazed how many waste time and money taking shortcuts, copying content, using bots, or supplying irrelevant information with a link on every forum they find.

Whether you are trying to improve your searchability yourself, or if you have hired a third party to help, make sure none of these tactics are being used or it will hurt in the long run.

Coming Up With Guest Post Ideas:

So now you know how to do it. Perhaps the most difficult part is continuously supplying fresh and relevant content. This will be essential to your efforts, and luckily there are a few simple ways to ensure you are staying relevant and new:

Become and expert – You probably already are somewhat knowledgeable about your product, service or blog. Keep up with the current trends, your competition, advancements in technology etc. Not only is this something you should be doing anyway for your business, but it will supply you with endless things to talk about.

Google alert – Part of becoming an expert is reading up on the subject. Google alerts notifies you when new content on your chosen subject is available without you having to search the internet for new things, so sign up for the program. It’s fast, easy and free.

Check out Yahoo Q&A sites – Unfortunately do to the freedom of posts here, there is some dead-end traffic and useless entries. However there are real people with questions and real people answering when you can find them. Look for stuff in your niche, and give good answers. This doesn’t mean “visit my site right now, we’re the best!” It means actually answering the question, then once you’ve answered the question you can put a link. Don’t make them follow a link for the answer either. You can post your own questions as well. Some of the questions may make for great material on your next post as well.

Social Networks and forums – Do a search on your topic and see if anything interesting and yet unexplored on the blog you wish to post on shows up.

Between those four sources, you should be able to find plenty to write about. Good luck!

There seems to be a new, hot topic lately among some of the visitors to my blog. Many have asked me about the relative effectiveness of on-page versus off-page optimization. One reader specifically said that he had just spent a fair amount of time optimizing his web page with Word Presser but saw very little improvement in his page’s search engine results ranking.

Had he wasted all that time optimizing his page, when he should have concentrated on off-page optimization instead? Is one more important than the other, or should each type of optimization receive the same amount of our time? In short, where do we get the most bang for our buck, on-page or off-page?

The most definitive answer I can come up with, unfortunately, is…. it depends.

The Power of Backlinks; It’s All About Who You Know

Most of us have caught onto the fact that Google is far less interested in what is on your page than who likes your page. Google actually relies a lot on popular opinion; if someone reads your article and likes it enough to link back to it, that’s worth Google juice. If this backlink comes from a “trustworthy” site, even better!

Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of social media, either. “Likes” on Facebook and “Tweets” on Twitter are just as effective as backlinks, as is positive feedback through Diggit and StumblelUpon. Any time that one human refers your webpage to another human, Google takes note and presumes that is a positive thing.

Acquiring quality backlinks, particularly by using applicable anchor text, is the best way to improve your page’s Google ranking for the most competitive keywords. Consequently, whether you’re selling books, offering free online car insurance quotes, or recruiting students for weekend snorkeling classes, your time will be well-spent optimizing off-page.

Producing Quality Content; Optimization by Accident

One happy result of the recent Panda update is that we will begin to see more quality content in the top search engine results. The new Google standards will require that articles be written to be read by people, not just the search engine, and that they be informative and relevant to a specific keyword.

Another happy result of this is that writers will be able to concentrate on writing well and still enjoy the benefits of some inadvertent on-page optimization. By simply explaining your topic properly, you will be including – and ranking well for – some low competition, long-tailed keyword phrases.

Proper Keyword Placement; Optimization with a Purpose

Once you’ve crafted a well-written and informative article, though, it is still worth your while to make sure the target keywords are in the right places. For instance, that keyword should be in your article’s title as well as the first or second paragraph. If you could include the keyword in your H1 tag, that’s bound to help, as well.

If your page doesn’t have a meta description, Google will create one by grabbing a random block of 160 characters from your page, and using those characters as a page description under your link on the search engine results page.

If you’ve carefully written your first paragraph as an introductory paragraph and included your target keyword in the right place, and if you’re reasonably sure that the algorithm will know enough to pick that particular paragraph as a text sample, this practice will work well.

On the other hand, if you would rather not take the chance, creating a good meta description is the best way to showcase your keywords – and your article – to Google and any prospective site visitors.

As most of you have already concluded, any website that offers free online auto insurance quotes, under-priced designer shoes, or over-priced teacups would benefit from a customized meta description rather than any random 160 characters that Google grabs from your page.

On-Page vs. Off-Page Optimization; the Final Verdict

Optimization is important, whether it takes place on-page or off-page. The different kinds of optimization accomplish different tasks; that’s the only distinction.
If you want to rank well for the lower-competition, long-tailed keyword phrases, then on-page optimization will do the trick. If you want an overall improvement in your search engine results ranking for all keywords, then off-page optimization will do the job nicely.

Perhaps most importantly, if you want a successful webpage, both kinds of optimization are necessary. You should optimize on your page with properly placed keywords and quality content, as well as off of your page by establishing quality backlinks.

This has been my experience, anyway. If you have other thoughts, I’d love to hear them!

Google Panda is Google’s newly launched feature aiming to get rid of low quality and duplicate content websites. This basically affects sites having irrelevant or duplicate content. So if you are running blogs and websites, it is really crucial to produce only high quality write ups making sure that everything is Google Panda safe. Below are few tips.

1. Do Not Duplicate your Content

The major culprit that Google Panda strikes out is duplicate web content. So if your content resembles that of another website, then your website is at risk of experiencing a dip in web traffic. To solve this, have the content of your website changed/re-written. You can also have your web page blocked with a web bots such that you page will not be indexed.

2. Build your Link with Social Media Websites.

Harness the benefits of social media websites to divert traffic to your website. Post your links that point to your website on these websites, Surfers can be directed to your social media page then eventually to your landing page. This way also builds up the much needed targeted traffic.

3. Invent Original Content

With free flow of information on the internet, plagiarism is inevitable. There is a lot of same information and this is the issue that Google panda is addressing. So, taking time to mine new information is a sure way to keep your website from being dropped by the Google panda algorithm. Source for original information.

4. Give Special Attention to On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO (search engine optimization) allows you to improve your visitors experience so that you can achieve your intended goal. You do not want your visitors to just view your page and bounce off to another website. Customize your webpage so that your visitors can respond in the desired way.

5. Furnish your Website with impressive features

People love variety. Some people love content in video formats, others love to have the information in printable format so having a print friendly version will be beneficial and some love summarized versions of content. Ensure that features that allow these formats are incorporated to increase traffic to your website. This can also serve to make your website a preferred choice in your niche.

The nuggets discussed above are simple but may take a while before you start experiencing its results. A little patience will be required but remember that it will be worth it in the long haul. Go ahead and employ them and watch worthwhile results emerge!!

Drop your comments if you found this article beneficial.

Quantity v/s quality of links – this topic has been debated on a number of times. While some strongly vouch for quantity, the others believe that quality is paramount; quantity being relevant only if you’re talking about the number of good quality links.

In truth, your search engine rankings don’t get any higher just because you have a larger number of links. On the contrary, some top sites on Google were noticed as having fewer links than most. This goes to prove that with Google, quality scores over quantity (for links, that is).

Here are some do’s and don’t’s to help you optimize your link building strategy.

Do’s:

Posts by Guests: One of the most effective ways for both parties to exchange traffic, guest posts are a great link building opportunities. Don’t delay on this one and watch the benefits trickle in.

1) Comment on certain blogs: Blog commenting could have two different agendas. One being networking and the other aimed at building links. Remember however never to spam and be genuine and considerate in your comments.

2) Baiting links: For those new to blogging, link bait posts refer to thoroughly researched and unique posts, which readers would automatically want to link with, given their superior content value. If you have something like this, personally connect with other bloggers in related fields and discuss prospects of being included on their blogs.

The Don’t’s:

1) Submitting to article directories and directory listings: It’s a needless waste of times to entertain every single online diary. The same applies to your directory listing strategy.

2) Link building across forums: Much as it entices you, in reality, it’s very difficult to get a decent link from a page, which contains your keywords.

3) Online profiles: Many SEOs think that on obtaining links from deep no PR pages of leading websites, the home page PR will transfer some equity to your much smaller profile hidden deep within the layers. However, most often than not, they pick-on very keywords that are very obscure words and can easily be ranked without links.

4) EDU/.GOV blogs: It’s getting more and more complex for your comments to be approved on both .edu and .gov blogs. Also, generating profiles for those sites does not work too well and the results are doubtful.

5) Automated Submission Software and Paid Links: Avoid these tactic as it pushes your rankings down further. And keep away from the latter.

While the above don’t’s aren’t wrong on their own, it’s just that you are better off sticking to the ‘do’s’ listed above. This way you’ll be able to preserve your SEO too. So wouldn’t you rather have quality over quantity?

The best way to get one or two unique visits a month is to pick a keyword in a niche that no one really cares about.

If you do any blogging or website creation online then you understand the importance of keywords.

The strength of your keywords will determine how much traffic your site will gets.

It also determines how much money advertisers are willing to spend to reach the audience of that specific niche, and ultimately how profitable and successful you’re site will be. Yes, picking the right keyword is a big deal.

I get asked a lot of times by new bloggers, “What is the perfect keyword?” That is a tough question to answer because what may be perfect in my book, may be flawed to someone else.

After a while I found it easier to help people understand how to choice keywords by explaining what is an appalling keyword. Cause the truth is, bad keywords are generally universal.

So if you want to find the “perfect” keyword, be sure to stay away from these dismal ones.

1. People aren’t interested in it

The best way to get one or two unique visits a month is to pick a keyword in a niche that no one really cares about. The universal truth about the internet is that without traffic, you won’t make any money. Keywords in niches that people aren’t interested in will not get a lot of traffic.

2. Advertisers aren’t interested in it

If you plan on monetizing you’re blog with banners or other similar ads, then that niche needs to be adequately targeted by advertisers.

It simple, the more advertisers there are the higher the bids will go for the keyword, the more each click will be worth.

If you want to make more than a few pennies for each click and be up in the $5 and up range with the big boys, then make sure you pick a keyword that has ample interest by the advertisers.

3. Who types that?

The term of the day for all those hordes of SEO experts out there is “long-tail keywords.” Although those can be very help if used right, many times people are targeting keywords that no one in their right mind ever uses.

Sure you may reach the prestigious # 1 spot on Google SERPs, but it will only send you a couple of views each decade or so.

4. A lot of strong competition

Picking a good keyword is only half the battle. If you want to squeeze out all of the potential, then you need to rank near the tops of the search engine results for that keyword.

If you have a new blog then, that will be nearly impossible if you are competing against established, reputable, page rank 5+ sites.

So now that you know what abysmal keywords looks like (no interest, no traffic, no advertisers, gibberish, many capable rivals), its time to go out there and hunt for you winner keyword that you sweep you out of the ranks of meritocracy and into success.

But I must warn you, keywords aren’t the secret to life or blogging. Just finding a good keyword isn’t going to cut. Don’t expect to just throw some keywords on a page and make a six figure income.

You still have to build quality content around. You still have to make sure your site has at the basic SEO principles implemented. You still have to make sure that you are giving your readers something that they wouldn’t dub a complete waste of a time.

Finding the perfect keyword is great and it can be used to make you a lot of money, but it’s not a magic word that will solve all your problems in an instant.

It’s kind of weird to me, but one of the most common topics I get emails about is article spinning. I would have never dreamed of all the topics in internet marketing this one would generate so many questions.

So I figured I better write some thoughts regarding article spinning and the best approach to take with it.

Why Article Spinning?

Article spinning became popular as a way to avoid the Google duplicate content penalty when article marketing or submitting one article to multiple article directories.

If you’re not aware of the Google duplicate content penalty, it is basically a filter that eliminates duplicated content from the search engine results.

Before the Google duplicate content penalty the easy article marketing strategy was to write one article and submit it to multiple article directories. This provided both traffic and Seo benefits since the article has a link back to your site.

The problem is after Google implemented the duplicate content penalty, suddenly articles that had the same content began to disappear from the index and the seo backlink benefit was eliminated.

Article Spinning solved this problem.

What is Article Spinning?

Article spinning is a way to take one article and make hundreds of unique articles out of it. There is a super easy syntax that is automatically generated by article spinning software.

The spin syntax is basically an open bracket then a pipe and then a close bracket.

i.e {word one | word two}

Note some software’s use the format of {word one ~ word two} or some version of that. Most article spinner software’s will save your articles in multiple formats.

Here is a simple example of how a sentence setup in article spin syntax might look:

{John|Martha} {went|traveled} to the {store|movie} {today|yesterday}.

When the above sentence is placed in an article spinner the software will randomly select one of the words in the brackets between the pipes.

So after the article is spun with the software the above sentence could produce the following results:

1. John traveled to the store yesterday.

2. John went to the movie today.

3. Martha traveled to the movie yesterday.

As you can see each sentence is written differently making them fairly unique. When you use the spinning syntax with a whole article you can produce hundreds of unique articles to submit all around the web. These articles will avoid the Google duplicate content penalty.

The Old Days of Article Spinning

I originally got involved with article spinning many years ago to make sure I maximized my article marketing and to prevent my articles from getting caught in the duplicate content penalty.

While this strategy worked well back then it was extremely time consuming. The reason being is I had to rewrite each article manually in the spin syntax which took at least 2 hours. Back in those days the best product on the market was a software called Article Bot and the results were not great.

ArticleBot is not around anymore and thankfully there are much more advanced article spinner software’s today. In fact, could you imagine producing hundreds of unique rewritten articles in as little as 5 to 10 minutes? It’s possible today!

Article Spinner Software

There are a variety of article spinner software’s on the market including free ones. There are even lots of article submission tools on the market that have built in article spinners.

But you should be aware there is a wide variance in features which can directly impact your results and how much time you spend rewriting each article. With spinning software you’ll want to use an article spinner that produces the fastest and highest quality results.

Article spinning by nature is a bit tricky. If you don’t have good spinning software, you’ll find yourself getting disappointing results, spending way too much time on it and confused.

Based on my extensive testing of multiple spinner software’s and even article submission tools, I will only settle for The Best Spinner.

The Best Spinner is simply the most advanced and easiest spinning software on the market. With this software I can load up an article and have hundreds of super high quality unique articles in 5 to 10 minutes.

If you have used article spinning in the past, you might be saying to yourself that is impossible. But it’s not!

What makes The Best Spinner standout of the pack is it’s built in thesaurus that is human generated and human ranked.

Basically each time members of The Best Spinner use the software it records their actions. It then ranks the words in the thesaurus in order by the number of times it has been used by other members in the past. The more times a word is used the higher it is in the suggested word list to you.

In the below example, the word Everybody is recommended to be replaced by Everyone, Every person, Anyone, Anybody, All people etc… These are all ranked in order by the number of times these terms were used by other members in the past.

Notice towards the bottom of the list there are still good options such as Almost all people, Everybody under the sun… etc..

With The Best Spinner another awesome feature I use all the time is the favorites feature. This feature allows you to save common words as favorites. Then in the future you just click your favorite’s button and the software will automatically replace the words in spin syntax.

If you setup your favorite’s right, the software will learn how you like to use any given word. Each time you save a favorite you are building smarter software to help you speed up future article rewrites.

I am a big proponent of doing something once and getting results for years to come, so I do spend a little time setting up favorites as I am spinning an article. It has paid off hugely for me in the amount of time I spend doing future articles. This is the key to how I can churn out highly unique articles in as little as 5 to 10 minutes.

Some of the other hot features of The Best Spinner are:

Point and click spin syntax results

Global favorites that allows you to use the favorites of other members

The Replace All function that replaces all the words in your document with the one you just rewrote in spin syntax.

To see all the features you can visit The Best Spinner.

How To Use Article Spinning Today

If you are thinking about building content for your website or blog using article spinner software, don’t waste your time.

I never use article spinning software for producing content for my own site. While I could take private label right articles and produce quick blog posts with spun articles, I don’t see this as a viable long-term strategy to building a high traffic blog or website.

I am a huge proponent of building high quality handwritten content for my own website. In my eyes, that is the only solution for long-term success online!

With that said, it doesn’t mean I don’t use article spinning. Article spinning does have a place in marketing my sites.

I’ve found article spinning is still great for article marketing and avoiding the Google duplicate content penalty. Since all the articles I produce are going to be rewritten through spinning, I don’t ever waste time writing the first article. I’ve been producing amazing result by just loading up private label right articles and allowing The Best Spinner to do the work.

This strategy has been a huge timesaver and while I use to outsource my article spinning I haven’t had to thanks to The Best Spinner.

Article spinner software can also produce results with other link building activities. It can be used with directory submission, link wheel building, automated forum postings, press release distributions, and pretty much anywhere you need to produce average content for Seo backlinks.

Based on my experience with spinning you won’t be producing content that ends up on the first page of digg.com. But a user friendly software tool like The Best Spinner will produce good enough content that reads clearly enough to be accepted into article directories.

In a nutshell, I like to think about it as the kind of average content that gets you clicks to your site while still providing SEO benefit at the same time.

Oh and one last thing. I have noticed that many of my average spun articles get more traffic clicks to my site then articles that I spend days writing. The main reason I think this paradox exists is readers may be less then impressed with the average content so they click the link to my site that is woven into the middle of all my articles.

Sometimes it doesn’t take being a perfectionist to get the best results!

This is a guest post from googleadsenserevenue.org a blog that helps you make money with Adsense.

The more I have been doing SEO the more I have learned this fact: Google loves content, aka words.

That FACT cannot be emphasized enough.

I will say it again.

The search engine, known as Google, loves text. It is what they pride themselves on and they have the best system at reading, analyzing, and properly indexing it.

Flash, pictures, animation, and videos are great. There is nothing wrong with those things (besides Flash, avoid that at all costs for SEO purposes) but they all must be accompanied by text.

My standard is at least 300 words of text on the home page and at least 150 words of text on any sub page I make.

I am on the internet at least ten hours a day. Its how I make a living so I have to be. And it surprises me that people still have not gotten this by now. I see the most beautiful websites designed but they have little to no text. And the owners of them, who spend thousands getting them made, cannot understand why it is not ranking for any of its terms.

Here are two suggestions I can give you when it comes to content that will help you immensely if you apply them

Home Page and Sub pages Must Have Enough Key Word Rich Content (On Page SEO)

When we get a new client we check two things before anything else. First, we check to see if the coding is up to W3C standards (which it is usually not) and second item we inspect is the content.

When it comes to content we look for three important items in which the web designers most likely did not think about.

300 words of text on the home page

all sub pages have some kind of text

keywords are in the text enough for relevance but not overly so to where it looks like spam (this is actually an art as most people do this part wrong)

check for duplicate content on Copyscape (big “no no” though Google lets local searches get away with it many times)

We still add videos, images, and all the other things to dress up a website but for search engine optimization purposes we make sure rich content either proceeds or follows all of those items.

Google Loves Articles (Off Page SEO)

Google has always and will always love articles. I use article writing extensively when it comes to achieving first page ranking for my personal websites and my company’s clients. I have gotten many websites to page one by writing 2-3 well written articles for them.

Ezine, GoArticles, Hubpages, and Tumblr are some of the best. But more importantly is the type of article you write.

I do not know how Google bots can tell a good article from one that is not but, believe me, they can. I have written 100s of articles on every topic imaginable and I have noticed that the ones I put a lot of work into and made them long, and I mean 600-800 words long, have done the best.

There are some Ezine articles I wrote back in February that are a PR3 right now. That is seen as an authoritative article to Google. I invested 20 minutes of research into a topic, one hour writing the article, and now three months later its a PR3. Amazing! Better than any reciprocal or forum link could have done.

Again, Google loves content.

Keep in mind that they make hundreds of millions off articles so you can understand why they are partial to them.

Every article directory has Adsense on their website now. Look at all of them and you will see it. Its everywhere.

Even the top notch ones like EHow, About.com, and Helium all use adsense ads to monetize their websites. And Google gives anyone who feeds those directories with quality content higher rankings.

It is one of the tools I have used extensively to a steady stream of income of Google adsense revenue.

So, do ya’ like writing?

I hope so. If you do not then SEO is going to be very difficult for you. Usually people who do not like to write but still want to rank high in the SERPS resort to “black hat” because they are lazy. Those techniques require very little work and anyone who does search engine optimization, and is good at it, can tell you its hours of work.

Hours of writing. Hours of making content for your website and others. But once you reach your goal its worth it.

Content is still king with Google. Remember its how they were able to beat Yahoo and MSN in the early 2000s. People were noticing that when they did a search on Google they got more informational results while the others were producing crap. Tons of images but very little useful data.

The more useful content you create the better you will do. Unless you want to mass comment spam other websites then it is something you will have to get used to. Google loves words and the more you feed the “big G” what it loves the more it will in turn reward you.

These days much of the online conversation about AdSense is focused around AdSense no longer being a viable opportunity for making money online.

My opinion is completely different. I know first hand that AdSense is a viable revenue source but in order to be successful you have to approach it correctly. It takes work something many people hate.

In this post, I will give you my view of eight steps to making 12K a month with Adsense.

Of course, your results may vary but this is my method to earn money online with AdSense.

Step 1: Your Niche Must Be Highly Profitable

With AdSense I start by selecting a niche where the price to advertise keywords is at least $5.00 per click on the Google AdWords side. This ensures I get a good share of the revenue when a user clicks the Google AdSense ad on my website.

By opening a Google AdWords account and setting up a fake campaign you can manually filter through various niches and find highly profitable niches.

The method I prefer is using Keyword Country which provides access to the top paying AdSense keywords with the click of a button.

I never focus on the highest paying keywords because they are normally way to competitive and saturated. I focus on keywords with bid prices in the range of $5 to $15 per click.

Once I find some niches I run that data against Google trends to make sure the traffic trend is solid. If it is declining rapidly I don’t use that niche.

Step 2: Research And Look For Golden Opportunity

Every niche has keywords that are super competitive. I never focus on these. Therefore, once I select a high paying Adsense niche I focus on finding long tail keywords with good search counts.

For example, if I select the niche of Teeth Whitening I would probably not focus the site around that keyword. I would pick other less competitive keywords like professional teeth whitening, zoom teeth whitening, Colgate teeth whitening products, etc..

All these keywords have decent search volumes and much less competition then the generic term teeth whitening.

By focusing on less competitive keywords I can normally land in the top 10 of Google with a little SEO work. I will describe SEO in future steps.

Step 3: Building Content Fast

After doing my research I have the map for my site and start building content. For speed I outsource my content writing. You can outsource at elance, guru.com or just do an google search for article writing.

I pay around $10 an article and the content is of good quality unique content.

It is important you get good quality original content, your goal should be to build a nice quality site that covers the key topics in your niche.

I normally start with about 30 articles and expand the site once I start making money.

The key to this step is make sure you get good quality unique articles.

Step 4: Building The Site Foundation

While my articles are being written I head over to Bluehost, where I host unlimited domains for the low monthly fee of $6.95 a month.

For my domain name, I always try to be creative and keep it as short as possible. My highest searched keyword will always be in the beginning of the domain.

Once I have a domain added onto my Bluehost account, I do the 1 click install of WordPress to get my site started.

With WordPress installed I now have the foundation to build my site. I find a nice quality WordPress theme with light colors and design a nice looking logo. If you don’t have graphic skills you can outsource logo design for $25. Try elance, or guru.com.

Step 5: Building The Site

Now that I have my sites foundation ready to go, when my articles begin arriving I start building my site via WordPress pages. Each page of the site is a keyword focused page.

I set my home page as a static page in the WordPress options. I build the home page on the highest paying keyword from my chosen long tail list. This is normally the same keyword that appears in my domain name.

For SEO I use the All In One SEO plugin and put the keyword early in the page title, H1, meta description of each page on the site. I also edit each permalink url to be keyword focused. I make sure my internal page links on my sidebar are keyword rich links.

In the page content I weave in AdSense ads using the Adsense Deluxe plugin. I also have some ad placements in the theme design.

Step 6: Links, Links and More Links

Once I have my site designed with lots keyword rich articles, I next focus on link building.

Versus finding link partners by sending e-mail after email to webmasters, I lookup whois records of other sites in my niche. I get the webmasters phone number and use OOMA my free voice over IP phone, to make unlimited free calls.

I get a lot of voicemails, but I always leave a nice message why I called. When I connect with a webmaster I tell them how great their site is and how I have a related site and would like to partner. I ask them to blog roll me and I will do the same.

I’ve had a ton of success with this method and it tremendously helps my search rankings. I normally have no problem getting a site in the top 10 of the search results for my chosen keywords.

One note, some people will get pissed you are calling them if so just move on to the next and forget about it.

I also focus on all the other ways there are to get links. Quality blog commenting, directory submission, article submission, squidoo, forums etc… There are tons of ways to get free one way links!

My most highly effective method for getting tons of links is by using
SEO Linkvine. With SEO Linkvine I can get 1000 unique links from blogs all over the web. Each blog post links back to both my home page and internal pages.

One last note, many of you might think reciprocal links don’t work anymore. But that is not true if you balance the reciprocal links with lots of incoming one way links. Having some reciprocal links with one way links looks more natural then all one way links or all reciprocal links. This is a big reason I use SEO Linkvine for easy one way links.

Step 7: Free Content To Make Your Site Expand

One of the things the search engines love is updating content. I hate to keep buying articles for my site, so I use the blogging function of WordPress combined with My Article Network and SEO Linkvine , to get unique updating content to my site.

With My Article Network and SEO Linkvine you’ll be surprised of the quality of unique content you can deliver to your blog. Sure it might have an outgoing link or two but who cares. Each post expands my site giving me more SEO internal links for my AdSense money pages. Also I put AdSense ads on each blog post which drives more revenue.

I just create a few categories in WordPress and link them up with the appropriate category at My Article Network/SEO Linkvine and I have free frequently updating content.

This is a super handy feature for my site and also drives additional traffic and AdSense revenue.

Step 8: Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

I’m a pretty busy guy but by working part-time I have my sites up and running with tons of links in 2 to 3 weeks. My target is to get each site to produce between $1000 to $1500 a month. I’ve invested a total of $300 to $500 to build each site so the return is excellent.

By producing 1 site a month you can see the earnings potential with Ad Sense is still alive!

Have fun and don’t rush things. All you need is one site a month, then at the end of a year you’ll have 12 sites. If you can achieve $1000 a month per site, that $12,000 per month or $144,000 per year!

One of the most important on-page search engine optimization (SEO) variables is your page title. All other things being equal between two sites, the page title can be the reason one site out ranks another in the search results.

A good SEO optimized page title needs to be no more then 70 characters counting spaces. Since your page title is placed in the search results it is important to keep it less then 70 characters. If your page title is more then 70 characters then Google will cut it off in the search results. Titles cut off in the search results have a … at the end of the title and will result in a lower click through rate.

Your keywords are the important part of your page title. You’ll want to ensure your page title lists two or three keywords. It’s best to place the keywords in the title early versus at the end. I recommend focusing on two keywords, but you can push it to three if totally necessary.

You’ll see many sites simply place the keywords in the title with no selling. For instance, you see many titles like the following: Bad Credit Home Loans – Poor Credit Finance.

While the above title is optimized for SEO, it is important to realize that the search engines are not the only ones you need to please. You also need the searcher to click on the title. Adding a boring title like the above can influence how many clicks you get.

I highly recommend you get creative with your page title and try to make it sell. This will drive way more clicks then a boring page title and help differentiate your site from the competition. To add sales flavor to your title you’ll need to understand the mindset of the searcher.

For instance, for someone searching for bad credit home loans, the mindset of the searcher may be a little insecure. This searcher may also be frustrated with shopping from lender to lender trying to locate a lender that will approve bad credit applicants.

By understanding the above mindset of the searcher you could add some sales power to your title and still hit the necessary keywords. Perhaps you create a title, Trouble-Free Bad Credit Home Loans For Poor Credit Finance Applicants. Or even better, Guaranteed Bad Credit Home Loans For Poor Credit Finance Applicants.

The above two titles immediately solves the searchers emotional needs. This will result in a higher click rate then a generic keyword stuffed title such as Bad Credit Home Loans – Poor Credit Finance.

Here are some other tips for your site’s page titles:

Each page on your site should have a unique page title and be focused on different keywords. If all your pages have a page title that is too similar then your site could get caught in the Google duplicate content filter.

Make the keywords in your title a little different then the keyword in the meta description. For instance, if you place bad credit home loans in your title, use loans for bad credit in your meta description.

To maximize click through rates, always capitalize the first letter of each word in your page title. Don’t use all caps or all lower case.

Do not repeat the same keyword twice in the title.

Try to use semantic related keywords in your title. This will help with Google Latent Semantic Indexing. For instance, a semantic related word to loans, is finance. Don’t use loans twice in the title.

The page title should focus on the same keywords as the anchored internal links to the page. So if your page is primarily about bad credit home loans, then the internal links on your site should use the anchored text bad credit home loans.

For WordPress blogs the All In One SEO plugin has custom page title management to help you place a unique title on every page.

Based on my five years of testing, good on-page SEO can make a huge difference in your search ranking. Yes backlinks are more important, but don’t underrate on-page SEO. With Google filters if you don’t approach on-page SEO correct your site can disappear.

I have gotten several questions regarding my guide to making money online. One of the most frequently asked questions is why I recommend blogging in the guide versus just throwing up affiliate landing pages and using PPC to drive traffic.

I have five core reasons:

1. Conversion: Building a relationship by adding value is one of the highest converting ways to make money online. Most people fail online because they do not spend the time building a relationship, they just go directly to convincing people to buy a product.

Blogging is conversational which makes it perfect for building relationships with readers. This will drive high conversions and help you build a long term business/brand.

Certainly you can build a relationship via e-mail by throwing up a landing page and capturing email addresses. But why would you want to publish all the content via email when you could have that content rank in the search engines and drive traffic to you?

2. Traffic: With a little work, building relationships with other bloggers will reap you traffic benefits for years and grow your subscribers. You want to associate yourself with other blogging experts in your field, which intern helps your brand evolve.

Getting out from behind your computer and picking up the phone can really help you build relationships with other bloggers. Also attending events is a great way too.

3. SEO: The SEO benefit is huge with blogging. By far the biggest factor that influences your blog’s search engine raking is links from other authority sites in your niche. By other bloggers linking to your blog it will make it much easier for your blog to consistently rank in the search engines.

Authority sites are not going to link to your 1 page affiliate site. Plus if you are marketing via PPC you can still build a landing page off your blog. Google will reward you with a much better quality score since your blog has lots of authority.

Updating content is another huge factor in your search engine placement. Blogging makes it easy to keep your content fresh which will have the search engines loving your blog.

And don’t forget about the SEO for WordPress plug-in that makes on page SEO for your blog a cinch.

4. Feeling Proud: Statistics show when you feel proud about your work you will be more successful. Blogging provide you the perfect opportunity to build a long term business and brand you can feel proud of.

You have a choice online, build a long term brand or jump from one short term affiliate opportunity to another. Either way you will spend lots of time. The difference is with building a blog you can create a long term business versus just a short term money making opportunity that will get copied by affiliates.

5. Technical Hurtle: I have noticed many people online fail because they get caught up with html and technical issues when creating a business website online. With blogging systems like WordPress, the technical hurtles to succeed are significantly reduced. This is a great reason to start blogging especially if you are not a techie.

I hope this helps you see why blogging is a great method for building your online business. Sure you have to write a bit, but in the long run building a long term business is much easier then jumping from niche to niche trying to make short term money!
