<p>Obviously a 20% conversion rate with ½ the traffic, delivers 10,000 new sales to you versus only 5,000 sales if you convert 5% on 100,000 visitors.</p>

<p>I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the lower traffic and higher conversion rate all day long.</p>
<p>I say this not only for the additional upfront sales, but also the benefit that in the future it’s easier to convert an existing customer then attract and convert new visitors.</p>
<p>I have found with my many websites that focusing more time on conversion rates can many times be better then focusing on increasing traffic.</p>
<p>In this post, I will discuss 5 ways I’ve used in increasing my own conversion rates. Hopefully these will help you do the same!</p>
<p><strong>Use Guest Articles and Posts on Blogs</strong></p>
<p>Building trust is one of the most important factors to increase conversion rates.  Writing guest posts on other well established websites and blogs gives you instance credibility.  </p>
<p>When the visitors to your site click through to your site from the guest article you wrote, you have already began building trust with a killer first impression.  </p>
<p>Article and guest posts on other well established websites in your niche are one of the best ways to build trust and conversion fast.</p>
<p><strong>Asking Your Visitors</strong></p>
<p>An ask campaign is simply asking for feedback from your visitors.  Think about it, do you know why your visitors did not make a purchase when leaving your site?   Do you know what your visitor’s most important question is after visiting your site?</p>
<p>Asking your visitors a simple question can give you a major advantage for increasing your conversion rate.</p>
<p>When I did an ask campaign on one of my sites in the teeth whitening niche, I was able to increase my conversion rate by 35%.</p>
<p>I did this by setting up an exit pop-up and simply asking my visitors the following question when leaving my site without purchasing:</p>
<p>“Wait before you go.  What is the single biggest reason you decided not to give our teeth whitening product a try?”</p>
<p>What I discovered is most visitors perceived the price of dental grade teeth whitening as too high when compared to over the counter products like Crest White Strips.</p>
<p>In my copy, while I spoke about the substantial benefits of dental grade whitening, I had not specifically compare the benefits to over the counter methods.</p>
<p>With a couple hours of work I was able to adjust my copy and increase my conversation rate by 35%.</p>
<p>So while you might be focused on Traffic, Traffic, and more Traffic, spending some of your time on increasing your conversion rate can payoff big time.</p>
<p><strong>Testimonials Matter</strong></p>
<p>Testimonials drive conversion.  I see so many websites that completely ignore this one simple technique.</p>
<p>I have seen my own conversion results increase 30% to 50% by just adding good customer testimonials.</p>
<p>One of the most awesome things about the web is it’s easy to add audio and video testimonials, which leave your visitors emotionally connected to your message and help build trust immediately.</p>
<p>It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in business, your sites visitors will listen to what others say about you more than any form of advertising you can do.</p>
<p>If your competitors aren’t using testimonials you can leave them in the dust!</p>
<p>So get out those old customer lists and go get’em!</p>
<p><strong>Give Away Value</strong></p>
<p>Your visitors are likely to immediately trust your website if you provide them free stuff that is of high value.</p>
<p>The freebie will depend on your niche, but normally the best freebie is a high quality information product in the form of a downloadable report or video.</p>
<p>Exchanging a free information video or report for the email address of your visitor can have a huge impact on your conversion.</p>
<p>The free gift helps you build immediate trust with your visitor and acquiring the email address can help you build a long-term relationship and drive conversion.</p>
<p>Here is an example:</p>
<p>Let’s say you run an online store selling dog products.</p>
<p>Since your visitors will be primarily dog owners you could interview a local veterinarian and offer your visitors a free video or downloadable information product showing “10 Little Known Veterinarian Secrets for Guaranteeing Maximum Health for Your Dog”.</p>
<p>Making this one simple change to your website can give you a huge conversion advantage and help you easily trump your competitors.</p>
<p><strong>Exchange Endorsements</strong></p>
<p>Partnering with other businesses in your niche is an excellent marketing tactic to help your conversion rate.  I’m not talking about direct competitors but other businesses in your niche that are not in direct competition with you.</p>
<p>With an endorsement exchange, you’ll ask your partner to endorse your business in return for you doing the same with their business.</p>
<p>For example, in the teeth whitening niche I was able to partner with dental labs, and implant dentists.</p>
<p>To get personal endorsements you’ll have to work a bit.  You can’t just call someone and ask for it.  You’ll need to hit tradeshows and industry events to build relationships first.</p>
<p>Once you have the relationships in your industry, you’re golden.  Placing those endorsements on your site has conversion power!</p>

It is the first page which your visitor see when reaching your website and it is not always the homepage of website. Landing pages play an important role when they are created with specific purpose to get sales or generate leads. The conversion ratio and success of an online campaign depends on how optimized your landing page is.</p>

<p>In this post, I am going to share some practices which will help you in creating a <a href="http://www.landingpageoptimization.org/" target="_blank">landing page</a> that converts and sells well.</p>
<p><strong>Setting a Goal for Each Page: </strong> Experts have different views on this. Some think that your landing page should be dedicated to only one offer but other think that there is no problem in adding navigational links or to mention about other offers.</p>
<p>The best way to find an answer to this is to experiment with both and find the solution which works best for your niche.  It may vary niche by niche. Normally, if traffic to your landing page is coming from any PPC campaign then you should mention only one offer in your landing page. PPC traffic is very focused and looking for a specific thing.</p>
<p><strong>Relevancy:</strong> The headline and title of the landing page should be relevant to the advertised offer. You should consider creating separate landing pages for each different keyword and offer. If a user clicked on an offer which claims to give 14 day free trial then don’t direct him to the landing page where he have to pay.</p>
<p><strong>Compelling Headline: </strong> Make Your Headline bold and strong so that it can stand out from the rest of the page. Don’t use headlines like “ Learn how to earn online money” instead of that use compelling headlines like “ Learn How I earned 100,000 dollars in 30 days”. The second headline is more likely to get clicked and have a high Conversion rate.</p>
<p><strong>Add Images:</strong> An image is equal to 1000 words, using a relevant image can convey your message quickly and effectively with very less effort. Image describing the product and your offers play a very important role in increasing the conversion rate.</p>
<p><strong>Call to Action:</strong> The purpose of the landing page is to encourage visitors to get the desired action. The call to action link For eg: &#8211; Click here should be at the top of the landing page so that it could be easily visible to everyone. Putting your call to action link at wrong place can reduce your conversion rate a lot.</p>
<p><strong>Building Credibility:</strong> Building Credibility with your customers is very important to sell your product to them. Adding short testimonials from likeminded people, awards and recognitions or putting logos from some reliable websites can build trust amongst your prospects about your website. Landing pages with testimonials and reviews always have high conversion rate as compared to others.</p>
<p><strong>Keep it Simple:</strong> Try to keep your landing page simple. A complex landing page filled with images, videos or information about other offers is very distractive and don’t convert well.</p>
<p><strong>Focused Content:</strong> The content on landing page should be highly relevant and focused completely on a single offer. Break big paragraphs in to short and highlight the important points so that they catch the user attention easily.  Provide all important information and conclusions at the top of your landing page as users don’t wait long to read so far. Not so important or supportive information should be last.</p>
<p><strong>Free Offers and Money-Back Guarantee:</strong> Always provide free offers related to your product as such offers will help your prospects to remember you and encourage them to buy from you whenever they need your product. If possible try to provide a money back guarantee with your product. These guarantees help in creating a risk free environment for your prospect to buy from you.</p>
<p><strong>Contact Information: </strong> Always add your contact information with your image and a short profile at the end so that users can feel that your website is completely reliable and they are not going to buy from a scammer.</p>
