In the internet marketing world you always hear marketers talking about traffic. Traffic this, Traffic that, how to get more traffic, etc… Traffic is the lifeblood of any internet business.
Sometimes by focusing on traffic, you as a marketer can forget about one key principle. People are behind the traffic to your site. It is important to always keep that in perspective or your site and brand will suffer from one time “hit it and quit it” traffic.
People are what buy your products, click your ads, make more page impressions, and virally spread the word about your site.
Therefore, it is important for you to use your site as a way to engage people and let them know you are human. The profit of any internet business, is directly influenced by the number of people inspired to believe and trust in the site. Your personal relationship with readers will do this more then anything!
To help you engage and build trust with your readers here are six internet business tips:
There are many other ways to engage people so be creative and make sure you always over deliver to your readers. Once you engage and build the trust of your readers your internet business will never be the same.

3I think taking care of your readers is very important, finding out what your readers like or dislike through discreat surveys is important to future succsess.

4I think you have to make a distinction between generating traffic for your blog or an actual website. I have both and quite frankly I’m only concerned with how many sales by website generates.
On the other hand, my blog is different in that I don’t actually sell anything on it… not directly, anyway. My blog provides info’ about dental health and hopefully I’ll get the occasional visitor to pop on over to my website and make a purchase.

5Howdy Evan,
Hope you are in best of health. You have put together a nice list of effective business branding. I was wondering to what extent can you promote your brand without turning off friends on social networks. Any tips?
Take care,

6Converting traffic into targeted online or offline actions should should be the goal of any online business. But, as with any form or type of business, achieving that goal is never that easy.
I agree with all of your points, and would add to the list: understanding your traffic and the online communities it represents. Each visitor that comes to your site represents not only a potential customer or subscriber, but also a vast network of potential leads. By understanding your traffic and the communities it represents, you can leverage the networks it is linked to.

7I think that answering comments is the really great point on this list. I really like when the author comes back and answers everyone’s points and questions.
I doesn’t happen very often. I know, I have about ten blogs that i read regularly and only one of them does this. It’s just a blog about that person’s life so, yeah, they have a vested interest.
Oh and Grizz, he answers, but I don’t consider him “just a blog”.
I think more about increasing traffic rather than conversion rates. Not that I don’t consider conversions but, i spend much more time uping my SE ranking as opposed to the other. Just me.
