Acclaimed as one of Google’s biggest threats, Myspace offers you an incredibly unique opportunity to drive free website traffic to your site.  With over 150 bazillion  :D users I highly recommend you consider Myspace as a traffic source for your website or blog. 

Getting free website traffic from Myspace starts with setting up a profile.  On your profile page you should look to drive the traffic off Myspace to your website or preferably to a squeeze page where you can capture a name and email address. 

A great way to build your profile page is to offer a free download to an information product on your niche.  Then in order for viewers of your profile to download the product they have to click on a link in your Mysapce profile page, which leads them to your squeeze page off Myspace.

Once you have your profile page set up, you will next want to start adding friends.  Simply do a search for friends with your keywords.  For instance, if you are promoting an online marketing product, try searching for people with marketing in their profile. 

After you locate potential friends in your niche start adding as many friends as you can to your friends list.  It is my recommendation that you DO NOT use an automated friend adder unless you want your profile page deleted and all your work to go down the drain.

Once you build a friends list your next step is to respond to their profile with a comment.  If your friend’s comment section allows html you can leave a link back to your site.

After you are finished adding and commenting with friends, you should next focus on updating your Myspace blog.  In doing this be sure to ping your Myspace blog and submit it to the RSS directories to ensure it gets worked into the web.  Also try to apply some good content because this will help convince people your products are worth their while.

You will also want to check out Myspace groups and post in the forums.  One thing you should highly consider with groups is that the group leader has a ton of authority.  If you can build a relationship with a group leader and show the leader that your products are good then you can make a ton of money from Myspace groups.  When posting in the forum make sure you do not spam the groups.  Also watch out for forums that are just full of spam.  You do not want to waste your time posting in these forums.

The last tactic you will want to use for driving free website traffic from Myspace is to consider posting classifieds.  Like any other classified you post make it interesting and have a big catch headline.  For instance this might be a headline…. “Learn how A Nobody With No Internet Marketing Experience Earned $15,000 in 60 days”.
