Recently, several people have asked me the question about what is my best month for sales with my internet business.
I always find this question very interesting. I bet my answer is totally different than what you think. Take a minute and guess. What do you think would be the top sales month for a business like mine which focuses on helping people start a business online?
When I originally began helping people start a business online, I felt strongly that January would be the best month for sales in my business. My logic was that most people beginning a new year are looking to improve on something in their life. What could be better to improve your life than finding complete freedom with starting a new online business?
As has happened many times before, my logic failed me once again. January is not my best month for sales with my business. Actually December is my best month for sales.
Originally, I figured December would be my worst month. The reason being is that people have so much other stuff going on with the holidays coming, I figured the last thing most people would want to purchase is information on how to start a business online.
After I observed December being the top month in my business I thought about why this could be. After a few minutes, it made perfect sense to me and it highlights an important concept you should consider every day in your business.
The concept is when people have their wallet out ready to buy your ability to convert a sale increases substantially no matter if they need the product now or later. Obviously there is no better month than December when it comes to people having their wallet out ready to buy. December works well for my business, but may be totally different for yours.
But for your business you should not only think about this concept in terms of what is the best month for sales in your business. You should think about it from an order standpoint on your website.
See when people are ready to order your product and are filling out the order form on your site they have their wallet out ready to buy. This is the best time in the world to increase your sales by up selling or bundling your product with another product.
When people go as far as visiting your order page they are not going to just leave it because you try to up sell or bundle your product with another product. Therefore, this is the best time possible to increase your sells.
By giving different priced up sell or bundled options of your products on your order page you can easily see your site’s sales explode!

1I never really thought about it this way, but it makes a lot of sense. I’m going to give the bundling and upsell option a try on one of my sites and see how it works.

2Hi Jason, glad to hear that you are going to give up selling/bundling a try. Let me know your results, I have always had great success with up selling/bundling.
I find many people are scared to up sell because they feel it will scare their customer off. However, if the customer is already on the order page I found through my testing that up selling/bundling works very well and most of the time the customer takes the middle of the various package options.
Be sure you start with the highest priced package first and then go down in price. This way as the customer goes down in price they will always wonder what they are giving up from the top option. Chances are they won’t select the cheapest or most expensive package. They will go right in the middle, which is more than you would have sold had you just given the option of an individual product purchase.
