To succeed with an online business, you must identify the reason someone should do business with you. People will only pay for a product or service if it solves their problem.
Therefore, the first thing you need to do is to identify a problem in your niche market, and then look for a solution, either with a product or a service. Approaching your online business from this perspective, will not only enhance your chance for success, but you will discover hundreds of ways to make money online.
First, you should identify the top 10 problems that people in your niche want to solve. Then take each of these problems and ask yourself if someone would pay money to solve the problem.
Next, take the top three problems that people want to solve, and identify any resource you can sell to solve the problem.
You should ask yourself the following question: do you have a skill or possess a specialize knowledge that will solve a problem in your niche? An example would be if you are a good writer and you’re also knowledgeable about dogs. Is there an opportunity in your market to write about dogs? You might be able to earn a comfortable living working as a freelance writer out of your home.
Next, see if you can find any other resources that you could sell to your niche market. You should go to one of the websites that sell info products and see if there are any info products available in your market. I suggest that you go to ClickBank.com and PayDotCom.com to see if they have products to sell for your niche.
One of the decisions you will have to make is whether you want to sell a physical product or information products. We don’t recommend that you sell physical products if you are new to online marketing. To market physical products on the internet will require you to have a shopping cart, a website, ie a store front, a reliable source, and shipping and handling of the product to get it to your customer.
Information products on the other hand, are easy to distribute because they are downloaded from the internet. Information products are the easiest to sell because you only have to send your prospect to the sales page of the product that you are marketing. With a physical product you have to do everything from creating your own store front, market testing, setting up collection and refund systems, all of which take away from the time you need to spend marketing.
You will also find that with information products you can sell less and net the same amount of profits because they pay a higher commission. For example, most ClickBank info products pay 35% – 75% commission, which is far better than the 3% – 10% you get from selling physical products.
To summarize:
1. Find an area of interest you would like to work in.
2. Find the top 10 problems that people in that niche want to solve.
3. Ask yourself if they would be willing to pay for a solution to their problem.
4. If so, solve their problem by selling them a product or service.
5. If it’s an info product, drive traffic to the sales page of the person who created the product and let them sell your prospect.
6. Collect your affiliate commissions.
7. Rinse and repeat.
As you can see, using this formula will uncover an enormous number of opportunities to make money online.
