Internet Marketing Advice For Writers
March 30, 2010 | In: Internet Business
When you want to learn how to use your writing talent for Internet marketing, the process can be difficult and frustrating. But you don’t need to worry. Even though there are many different things for you to learn, starting with smaller pieces of the puzzle and working your way up will get you where you want to go. Once you get your feet wet with making money by writing for online marketing projects, that will get the ball rolling and it will become easier with time.
The number one thing you should learn when you want to make money writing is to honor your own learning process. Do whatever you have to in order to learn, but try not to burn out. Eventually, you will be get where you need to go, and you’ll be able to count on your own judgment. You should always remember that you should use the resources around you if you get stuck. As an example, the capitalization and spelling of common online terms doesn’t have to be memorized. Links to definitions, capitalization and spelling of important Internet terms are available many places online. All you have to do is bookmark a good reference and use it when the situation calls for it. If you’re really feeling overwhelmed, spend some time looking at the Chicago Manual of Style. That will give you a good foundation for your writing.
Yet the grammar, spelling and capitalization aren’t the only concerns when you’re writing for Online marketing. You also want to maintain high standards of honesty and integrity. Good examples of what can happen if you don’t are the fake Site Build It affiliate reviews. From what I understand, people wrote fake reviews and pushed them to the top of Google for big-money keywords so people woudl be led to buy products and services that may or may not be entirely beneficial. That didn’t go over to well with some Internet marketers. People who understand about Internet marketing wrote about the bogus reviews and there was a big upheaval. I too wrote a review because I felt that’s what an online community member should do. Ultimately, it became clear that the Site Build It situation wasn’t as bad as it first looked although it really isn’t a good deal for Internet newbies. The lesson I took away from that was that the higher calibre the project, the less likelihood there will be that people will pounce on you. So, I would have to say that you should do some research an online project before you take it on as a writer.
