Always Include Your Keywords
Keywords are important, so make sure that it’s there in your ads. The keyword is there to grab the attention of a prospect – and if a person doesn’t see what he’s looking for in your ad, he might just skip it and look at others. Of course, you ad must also be appealing, compelling and make total sense. It can be difficult to create compelling ads on such a short space. It’s a waste of time, effort and opportunity, if you don’t include the keywords in your ads.
Making Use of Bidding Strategies – High to Low Bidding
Here’s a useful strategy for bidding, but first let me explain how Google ranks your ads. Google ranks your ad by two things, your bid price and your Click-Through-Rate (CTR). When your ad is displayed and being click on, the total count is called the CTR. Being new to AdWords, your quality score is definitely low, so to be on the first page is more difficult . One way is to bid higher to get your ad shown. Most newbies bid high to get that initial exposure. This gets you better CTRs, and then you can slowly lower your bidding price. Ultimately, the goal is then to keep your ad on the first page with the lowest bid price possible.
Tips on Bidding Strategy: Low To High
Another common bidding strategy is the reverse of the above strategy. This is very useful for keywords that aren’t so competitive or popular. If your budget is limited, you can also use this method. You start off by placing a low bid price and then slowly increasing that price until you reach the first page. Again, you must try to land your ads on the first page with the lowest bid possible.
Make Use of Negative Keywords
Negative keywords help prevent your ads from appearing in search results that are unrelated, else your ads can appear to audiences who are not your target. There is a selected market of people you want to focus on and your ad must appears in front of them. Your ad can display to the wrong people if you don’t use negative keywords list. Let say you are promoting dog collar and a keyword you used is “collar”. However, when someone type in the word “collar”, he may be looking for different information or different types of collar. He could be looking for cat collar. What you can do is to use the negative keywords function and add “cat” into it, so that your ad don’t show. You must use the negative keywords to target your ads. This will increase your CTRs and give your website more relevant visitors.
Test Your Ads
Testing your ads is important,Google AdWords can be a pain in the neck to use at times, but one good thing about it is that testing in Google AdWords can be automatic. Simply put 2 different ads into an AdGroup and Google will display them alternately. After sometime, Google will decide which ad works best and use it more often. If you have numerous ads, you can repeat this process until you find the perfect ad for your campaign.
Everyday, Google display millions of ads online and if you plan to use Google AdWords, you need to do more to succeed. If you want to make sure that your Google AdWords campaign is successful, all you need to do is to know what is important. Use the strategies here and you’re ready to go.
